Sixth Annual Global Development Awards Competition

The Global Development Network (GDN) is currently accepting
submissions for the Sixth Annual Awards Competition. The competition
carries prizes in cash and travel of over $300,000; making is the
World's largest international Development competition.  Submissions
will be accepted for an ongoing development project, completed
research, or a new research proposal. The last day for submissions is
September 16, 2005.  Competition themes:

Theme 1: Institutions and Poverty Reduction
Theme 2: Institutions, Policies, and Long-Run Growth.
Theme 3: Institutional Development and Change in the Health Sector
Theme 4: Political Institutions, Governance and Development 
Theme 5: Globalization, Institutions, and Development

Eligibility requirements: The Medals are open only to citizens and
permanent residents of developing or transition countries.  If there
is more than one researcher, all researchers must be citizens or
permanent residents of developing or transition countries The
principal researcher must currently reside in a developing or
transition country.  If there is more than one researcher, at least
50% of the researchers (including the principal researcher) must
currently reside in a developing or transition country  Staff members
of multilateral organizations are not eligible to apply for the
